      Regulation 3.4.7.3: Within six (6) months of the initial date of employment; staff and auxiliary staff left alone with children and/or counted in staff/child ratio as specified in the rule 6.2.1.8 of these regulations, and the program director shall maintain an up-to-date BFIS Quality and Credential Account. Documentation, verification of qualifications, and all annual professional development activities as specified in the rules in sections 7.3 and 7.4 of these regulations shall be submitted to Northern Lights at CCV to be verified and maintained in BFIS.

      “A review of staff BFIS accounts, showed that accounts are not being kept up to date as required. Corrective Action: It was discussed that the program is working on a new system for the directors at each preschool program location to be responsible for ensuring staff will keep up to date accounts. A plan is being made to ensure that substitutes will be overseen to ensure their BFIS accounts are maintained. Send an email confirmation of the new plan for staff BFIS accounts to this licensor.”

      Regulation 5.10.3.1.1: There shall be a safe outdoor play area with a minimum of seventy-five (75) square feet per child to provide opportunities for vigorous play and large muscle activity on the premises or within a safe walking distance of the CBCCPP approved by the Division.

      “A section of the fence near the gate, has an opening on the bottom measuring approximately 9 inches and is a safety hazard. Another section of the fence, near the corner of the playground, is missing the metal pieces on the bottom portion and is an entrapment hazard. Corrective Action: After this visit, a work order was put into the facilities department to fix the preschool playground fence. Until the fence is repaired, staff must block the identified areas of the fence where the openings are more than 6 inches. Email confirmation when fence is repaired.”
