Regulation 3.7.2.2: The licensee shall ensure that evacuation drills are conducted at least once a month, and children and staff are evacuated in under three (3) minutes. Regulation 6.2.6.1: Staff shall be able to hear all children of pre-kindergarten age and younger at all times, shall be able to see the children with a quick glance, and shall be able to physically respond immediately.

“On 3/7/2024, a child walked out of the front door of the childcare program and into the parking lot without staff knowledge. Staff A was returning from their lunch break and saw the child stepping off the sidewalk and into the parking lot. Staff A brought the child back into the program. Corrective Action: Submit a program improvement plan identifying how supervision protocols will be updated and staff trained. The plan will describe how staff supervision practices have changed to ensure children are accounted for and what systems have been put into place so that children may not exit the program without staff knowledge. By 3/27/2024, mail or email the parent notification letter as outlined above and submit the list of parents, their contact information and their children's names to this licensor.”

The program has not consistently had sufficient amounts of varying food for children to have the opportunity for seconds nor has alternative food options been offered if children are still hungry. The child's parent shall be provided a copy of the report at pick up that day.
