Regulation 5.3.2: Daily Health Check Upon arrival into the CBCCPP staff shall observe each child for symptoms of communicable disease and signs of injuries. Any obvious injuries shall be documented along with any comments from the parent pertaining to the child's condition. This documentation shall be maintained in the child's file for a minimum of 365 days.
“On 06/02/2026 Child A's parent had a conversation with Staff X at drop off about a bruise they noticed on Child A's chest after they were picked up from the program the day before. Staff X did not document that they spoke with the parent about the bruise and note that both parents and staff are unaware of what caused it. On 06/17/2026, Staff Y was changing Child A's diaper and noticed swelling in the genital area. Staff Y had the Director look at the swelling and the Director contacted Child A's parents. The Director spoke with staff about the swelling and staff were unsure of what may have caused it. It should be noted that the Director and parents communicated multiple times about the chest bruising and genital swelling and none of the conversations were documented. Corrective Action: Please email this licensor a summary of the program's daily health check procedure. Include what practices have changed since this incident. Moving forward ensure that daily health checks occur, that when applicable any conversation or correspondence with the parent(s) is documented and current staff and any staff hired in the future are aware of this requirment”

If you need assistance with this process, you may reach out to your Northern Lights at CCV Resource Coordinator, [name], at (802) 828-0621or joanne.rouleau01@ccv.edu.
