Regulation 7.3.3: Family Child Care Assistant The FCCP shall ensure and maintain documentation that each Family Child Care Assistant is eighteen (18) years of age and meets or exceeds one (1) of the following qualifications: * At least is a high school graduate or has completed a GED and the Fundamentals for Early Childhood Professionals' course within the first twelve (12) months of employment; or * At least is a high school graduate or has completed a GED and has successfully completed at least three (3) college credits in content consistent with the core knowledge areas identified by NLCDC within the first twelve (12) months of employment; or * At least is enrolled in or is a high school graduate and graduate from a State Board of Education approved Human Services Certificate Program that emphasizes child development or early childhood education.
“It was determined that a staff identified as assistant is not qualified for the position that they hold. The staff has been employed as an assistant since 2015. The staff has not completed fundamentals or a 3 credit college course as required. Corrective Action: By 08/04//2021, it is required to develop a plan for compliance regarding staff titles at the program and compliance with the required qualifications. The plan will be sent to this licensor for review and approval.”

“After review of BFIS Staff Quality and Credential Accounts, and onsite files, it was determined that two (2) staff employed for longer than six (6) months at the program did not have up to date BFIS accounts and qualifications for their positions could not be determined. Documentation that items had been sent to Northern Lights at CCV for entrance into the BFIS accounts was not available. Corrective Action: By 08/04/2021, it is required to review all staff BFIS Quality and Credential accounts to determine what is missing. It is required to develop a plan on how the accounts will be updated and kept up to date in the future. This plan must be sent to this licensor for review.”
