Regulation 6.2.4.3: The program director shall ensure that each group of children is led by a staff member who is at least qualified as a teacher associate for at least 75% of the hours of operation.
“The program serves infants and toddlers and maximum group size requires that they operate as two groups even though the program space is one large room divided by gates for each group. There needs to be two qualified teacher associates and there is only one at this time. Corrective Action: After the visit the licensee stated that the enrollment numbers will be changing and that a second group may not be needed anymore. I have asked that the licensee stay in touch with me. By 02/12/2024 let me know if you have dropped enrollement so that there is only one group or if you have identified an additional qualified teacher associate and will continue with two groups. This program is set up as one large space divided in two. As such the Director is able to see all staff and will be providing any support, supervison and mentoring to staff until this regulation is back in compliance.”
