Regulation 5.1.1: The licensee shall ensure that the CBCCPP environment and practices support children's health and safety.
“On 02/12/2026 Staff X observed Child A exit the bathroom, bend over and pick something up off the floor. Staff X went to Child A, opened their hand and saw they were holding half of a white pill. The director asked the staff that worked in the classroom if anyone could identify the pill. Staff Y stated they took medication at 9:30 in the classroom bathroom, one of the pills was white and cut in half. Based on this information the half pill likely belonged to Staff Y and was accidently dropped on the floor. During the licensing visit this licensor observed two(2) staff member's bags sitting on a table, accessible to the Preschool children. One contained a supplement and the other an over the counter pain medication. Corrective Action: After the incident the program requires Staff Y to take her daily medications in the director's office. During the visit Preschool staff relocated their bags to a cabinet that is not accessible to children. Please send an email to Licensor [name] Fitts Pratt confirming that staff will ensure their personal medications are stored out of reach of children and staff are stepping out of the classroom when they take a medication. Please explain how the program will ensure staff adhere to this practice.”

Corrective Action: Submit a program improvement plan that will identify how the programs systems and supervision protocols will be reviewed and updated.
