    • Discipline and child guidance

Regulation 6.2.7.3: Staff shall use positive methods of guidance and behavior management that encourage self-control, self-direction, self-esteem, and cooperation.

“On 2/20/2025, Staff X used inappropriate discipline and guidance practices when they grabbed a child, who was running, by the wrist, that resulted in a bruise on the wrist of the left arm. Staff X also yelled at another child after they had pushed a classmate. Other staff present in the program shared that Staff X has used a frustrated tone and grabbed children by their arms at other times this year. This is a serious violation. Corrective Action: Effective immediately, only appropriate and positive methods of guidance and discipline practices will be used with children in care. A program improvement plan outlining the program's policies on acceptable guidance techniques, procedures for staff concerns, and how supervision and support of staff will be enhanced and maintained will be submitted to this licensor. Staff X will complete at least 2 hours of professional development approved by CDD with a focus on appropriate guidance and discipline practices. By 3/25/2025, mail the parental notification letter as outlined above and submit the list of parents, their contact information, and who received the parental notification letter to this licensor.”
