“LS conducted a complaint investigation on today's date. LS interviewed two staff members in reference to a child escaping from the assistant director and being found by a teacher in an elevator. The assistant director stated that around 2 months ago, she was in the hallway with the child referenced in the incident and trying to calm him down because he was acting out that day and overstimulated, when he took off down the hall. The assistant director stated that she lost sight of the child, and was actively searching for the child along with other staff in the building. The child was discovered approximately two minutes later coming out of an elevator on another side of the building. The assistant director stated that this child always takes off and runs and hides, and normally hides under benches or desks. The assistant director also stated that this child has behavior issues. Being a known runner, the child was put in a situation where they could run off again. An operator shall ensure that each child receives adequate supervision and care at all times, which is appropriate to the individual age, needs, and capabilities of the child.”
