There was a fire truck and book on the floor as well as a few additional objects, possibly a plastic yellow drumstick. When asked how long the classroom had been bare of anything to do, the director stated the classroom items were removed prior to three days ago, but less than two weeks, due to the hand, foot, and mouth virus being present in the program. At the time of the visit the director stated that laundered materials had not been cleaned yet, but hard surfaced materials had been disinfected but not placed back in the classroom. Corrective Action: Immediately clean and sanitize classroom materials and place them back in the classroom for children's use. Create a plan that addresses who is responsible for cleaning contaminated materials and when the materials will be cleaned and put back into the classroom. This plan must include a timeline that ensures children have access to developmentally appropriate materials as soon as possible. Send this plan to the licensor.
