“For children ages 16 months through preschool age, during the designated rest period, when children are resting or in an inactive state, the following rest period ratios are permitted if the requirements of subsections J through N of this section are met. Interviews confirmed that the staff member covering naptime in the 2y-5y class may step out of the class room, into the adjacent office/entry area, to assist with cleaning or afternoon snack preparation. Therefore, staff are not in actual sight and sound at all times as required under section J of this standard.”
