“Licensing specialist observed that the first aid kit had a flashlight that would not turn on and off. The batteries were replaced during the inspection and the flashlight now functions. In addition, a thermometer was not present in the kit, but was located nearby and in working condition. Finally facility is reminded to double check first aid supplies to make sure that their age is not affecting their cleanliness or medical effectiveness and to replace any materials that show signs of this.”

“Licensing specialist observed that the seesaw on the outdoor playground has handles where the protective padding has eroded away revealing rusty metal bars. Facility is asked to place a work order to have these repaired or replaced.”

“Licensing specialist observed 1 instance of an emergency card missing the physician information. In addition, there was 1 instance of an emergency card that was not present in the file. Facility states that this card was in the process of being updated by the parents and was taken for that purpose. Facility is asked to submit pictures of the updated emergency cards to the OCC.”

“Licensing specialist observed that the center is using 2 large green metal dumpsters near the side of the road to dispose of their trash. The dumpsters are surrounded by a fence that has a sliding lock on the gate. The dumpsters have standard black lids that you lift to place trash inside of. One of the dumpster lids was open when LS arrived for the investigation. No rodents were observed, however several of the bags inside of the dumpster do have small holes indicating that some animals may have gotten inside of them. There are also small holes on the ground which may indicate animals have burrowed in this location. Facility is asked to ensure that the dumpster lids remains closed and that they are cleaned on a regular basis by their maintenance crew.”
