      OCCL Standards Complaint (Substantiated)

“On January 6, 2026, the Office of Child Care Licensing (OCCL) received a complaint regarding not keeping the center hazard-free and safe and accident/injury procedures. An investigation was conducted on January 14, 2026. This complaint is substantiated for not keeping the center hazard-free and safe, because according to staff interviewed, the head of a screw was left in the wall where children are cared for. The screw was at a height to be accessible by children and subsequently caused an injury. There is no evidence to substantiate the complaint for accident/injury reports, because according to staff interviewed and all documentation reviewed, both parents were called immediately. One of the phone numbers was not in service and a voicemail was left for the other. Immediate contact to the parents were also observed in Brightwheel.”
